The Shadow Realm is a realm of my own construction, a hopeless realm with horrible climate changes, fierce and merciless predators, weather patterns that constantly spawn blizzards, hurricanes, tornados, and other treacherous storms, and even the very land threatens to destroy all of the life that inhabits it.
Yet life exists still. And yet, even within this tiny spark of hope, the creatures themselves are hostile and violent, and even their reproductive processes tend to extinguish more lives than they create.
It is a hopeless world full of violence and deceit. Anarchy and betrayal. This is naught but a cataloguing of the creatures, landscapes, and practices of aforementioned creatures that dwell within...
In this Section, Only the Topography and various locations of importance are covered.

Landscapes/Topography
The world of the Shadow Realm was named such because it of its gloomy countenance and dismal inhabitants. In fact, over 70% of its atmonsphere is veiled by dark thunderheads, 30% of which are highly acidic. This effectively prevents any amount of light beyond that of what we percieve as dusk is present in most of this world, and the night is consumed by total darkness, the only light source being some of the bioluminesent fungus that is native to this world.
The Shadow Realm was named "Dementia". It is a rather large planet, consisting of more landmass than water, through the terrain varies greatly. There are only two seperate landmasses in Dementia, and its inhabitants rarely interact. The two continents "Boltagia" and "Gorgoran"
Boltagia is home to one of the only sunlit regions in Dementia, named the Grontok Desert. The nights in the desert are so biting and cold, that the desert itself is covered in a layer of frost. The days are so brutally hot that the sand is capable of searing the flesh of even the most adapated of native creatures.
The other regions of Boltagia include the Velarvian Highlands and the Nosferian Forest. The Velarvian Highlands are perhaps the safest and most diversely populated of Dementia, although it is not any less dangerous than the other lands.
The Nosferian Forest is home to a tribe of intelligent, tool-using nomads called the Nosferian Laniatus, a subspecies of the dominant being of Dementia, the Laniatus. Creatures of this forest rightfully fear the Nosferians, as their rituals are often excessively violent, and tend to clear entire herds of certain species.
The continent of Gorgoran is signifigantly less diverse, but perhaps signifigantly more macabre. It is divided into the Gorgoranian Desert, the Tharkok Lowlands, and the Grimtooth Mountains. Cutting through the continent is a large river that consists of many branches, called "The Fountain of Massacre".
The Gorgoranian Desert appears to be straight from a nightmare. The sand is visible only after one burrows through the masses of corpses and blood. Perhaps if one gave it time to dry, the desert would rebuild itself. However, the Gorgoranian Desert is plagued by constant rainfall, keeping the blood slick and moist for centuries after the massacres that occur during the rites of passage of the Gorgoranian Laniatus. Often, creatures lose balance on this terrian, and it is not unknown for a creature to slide and be thrown off one of the many cliffs in the Gorgoranian Desert, only to be dashed against a clifface or against the ground, to add to the carnage.
The Tharkok Lowlands are especially dark, even by Dementia standards. It is able to be compared to the pitch black depths of the ocean. Most creatures here are blind and sense movement by vibration. Some of the most aberrant and twisted of Dementia's species.
The Grimtooth Mountains are vast, foreboding black spires, constantly plagued by an eternal blizzard, making them utterly unliveable to all but one species...but even they must clamber down to the nearby lowlands to feed. It is rumoured that the most powerful entity in Dementia houses itself deep within the twisting caverns in the mountains, however, even the Laniatus, one of the most fearsome creatures in Dementia, are too afraid to enter the wind-swept depths.
Finally, the Fountain of Massacre's water is actually clean and clear, hosting a plethora of creatures that dwell within its life-giving waters...excluding one branch. The branch that extends to the Gorgoranian Desert is a river of blood, feces, maggots, organs, and other foul and disgusting substances, nicknamed the Path of Damnation. Corpses of those who failed the various rites or rituals, or useless parts of the creatures that the Laniatus slaughter in their bloodlust.
Though this world is vast and expansive...these are the only researched locations...none dare to venture further...
