Well, here it is. Probably one of the most surreal, drug-induced things I have ever thought of, but, it shall be explained.
--------
An ancient being dwells within a veil, constantly shaping and manipulating our world, but constantly just out of sight to a world that is ruled by apathy and banality, where conformity reigns and to demure is to commit the greatest of heresy. This entity bears no name, though heretical texts refer to it as the "Ancient One" or the "Elder God". These texts claim that this creature was present far before the void of the universe was filled, and that it will last far after, influencing events subtly, yet powerfully, and adding to its ever expanding and vast knowledge.
The creature is always described having vessels, who interact with humanity, but has one favoured servant who is always depicted as an attractive female. Her actions tend to be as subtle as her Lord's, however, she is noted in directly influencing several majour world events, and each time, she has either brought devestating ruin or revitilizing salvation. She is credited with the sparking of the Renaissance after the Elder God's use of the Black Plague, the Schism of the Catholic church, and the fall of the Roman Empire (or, the dispersal, as refered to in the text). She is mentioned in several other events, but much of her seemingly minour influences are utterly unknown and unwritten.
The text goes to explain that she is favoured by the Ancient One, because she is a part of Him. It recites a legend in which the Ancient One removed one of His many hearts, and crafted it into a living entity that would fulfill what he believed to be His greatest purpose. Their relationship is sometimes described as romantic, but it is completely veiled to the Material Plane.
The last direct reference the text makes before it begins making cryptic prophecies and edicts set forth by the Elder God, is that the he is an entity of chaos and uncertainty, and no two people have described His image alike. The Elder God is said to appear as whatever the person before him feared the most, no matter how abstract or concrete. Some have described Him as a howling void of pure darkness, others as a massive and vile spider, and others still claim him to be a mirror image of themselves, only He makes them appear to be gibbering madly, cold and emotionless, or weak and vulnerable.
-----
There are several things about this RP that make it a bit different from others.
1. Although there is a very vague plotline, I have no solid plan on where this RP is going to go, I leave that entirely in the hands of the player. Whether you are a servant to the Elder God, a zealous priest, some hobo on the street, or the Ancient One's favoured servant, the plot will be determined soley by your actions. If you discover the Ancient One's ideals and goals, and decide that you wish to destroy him, then that is where it shall lead, if you decide to aid him, then that becomes the goal. If you decide to be content with ignorance, and allow the Ancient One to do what he always has, then events will begin to occur due to your chosen negligence.
2. There is really no set time period. Though you can assume this is the somewhat distant future, you can be at a 1920's bar with a poor quality radio playing, and then suddenly whip out a high-tech lap-top cellphone contraption to tell your friend to shut-up. And at the same time, you can be about to get into a fight, and instead of pulling out a 9 mm, you can pull out a flintock pistol, and get no sort of wag of the finger. However, I only ask that no giant laser beams or death rays make their way in here.
3. I think that is about it...oh, other than the character sheet I guess, which you may PM to me for approval, which you will likely get. That, and, there is one pre-made character that I would prefer someone else to play, but if no one wishes to play her, I will, of course, take up her mantle as well.
Here is the information that I need, feel free to add anything else you need.
Name: (...Yep, what do people call you, asshat.)
Age: (From cradle to coffin, only, it would be best if your age category rendered you sentient.)
Gender: (Male or Female, the choices are endless!)
Paradigm: (Servant of the Ancient, Ignorant Mortal, or Informed Mortal, who is basically someone who knows of His existance and whims, but does not serve Him directly.)
Race: (Anything is acceptable as long as it is not everliving or extremely strange, such as a chimera or a dragon)
Appearence: (...Well...what do you look like?)
Special Ability/Power: (Ignorant mortals are limited to only having innate abilities such as superior strength or speed, telekinesis, ect., and are banned from having magick whatsoever, since that is the domain of the Ancient One. Informed Mortals may have a smattering of magick and other supernatural abilities, but cannot access Eldritch Magick. Servants of the Ancients may have what they please, however, are restricted to acting -EXACTLY- as their Master orders, and may never -DIRECTLY- defy or disobey Him.)
Fear: (This can be anything, but please, try to avoid something like Spoons or Rubber Ducks)
Virture: (Chasity, Charity, Temperance, Dilligence, Patience, Kindness, and Humility)
Vice: (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride)
-------
Of course, the semi-premade character is the Favoured Servant, who may be created as the person who wishes to play her choses, except for the following restrictions:
1. Of course, she must be female, and must appear as a young adult, though she is much older than she appears.
2. Her fear MUST be the Elder God Himself, she is the only one who can see His True Nature.
3. She obviously must be a servant of the Ancient One.
4. Though she must love the Ancient One, whether this is overpowering obsession, a genuine romantic affection, or a more familial type of love is up to the creator, however, she must do everything in her power to please Him, because of her combination of great fear of His wrath and her love for Him making her not wish to displease Him.
Other than that, she may be created as normal, and, if no one cares to make her, I will simply take control of her myself.
-----
Vice and Virtue Abilities: To make things interesting, depending on your vice or virtue, I will allow you to tap within a certain power within your character, regardless or his or her paradigm (though an ignorant character would certainly be surprised by the more flashy displays)
Virtues:
Chasity: Due to your own purity of body due to moral wholeness and betterment (this may not necessarily mean that you have to be a virgin, it may also mean that you do not drink, do drugs, etc.), you may fully clense your own body. Drug addiction counts as a poison. Though there is no limit to the use of this ability, it cannot be used to fully heal someone's wounds during battle, because it requires active concentration and time, unless the wounds are minour, though it can partially heal someone during battle and remove any poisons. Removing curses during battle is impossible. When in use, you shine with a blue aura, your wounds healing rapidly.
Charity: Because you are generous, and noble of thought and actions, if a friend or ally is otherwise in danger, you may instead chose to endure the danger for them, no matter the distance between you and your ally (you must be able to see or know the danger is coming, however). If you otherwise would have died, been badly harmed, or otherwise mutilated, you are utterly unharmed, although you are very drained and may even faint if the attack was powerful enough. You glow with a powerful aura of violet light when this ability is in use.
Temperance: Because you are able to moderate yourself in all aspects, you obtain the ability to pass your temperance unto others, effectively mimicing Chasity's ability, but only on other people. You must be able to physically touch someone to do this, however, you may fully heal them, even during battle, but only once. Afterwards, you may only partially heal during battle, as normal. Your hand gains a blue aura, and wounds appear to heal rapidly.
Dilligence: Because you are both dedicated and careful in not only your work, but in all aspects of your life, when all hope seems lost, and no one is willing to move on, you may bolster your allies and yourself to press on. No task seems impossible, and no enemy undefeatable. You and the bolstered characters glow and energetic and powerful orange aura.
Patience: Your ability to solve conflict without violence and hatred allows you to pacify even the most violent of people. If anyone in your vicinity attempts to attack you or another with violence or hatred, you may simply use the power of your own voice to prevent the act from happening as long as you speak to your target. Of course, attacking your target negates this ability, and if you can manage to rationalize the person out of their violence, you need not continue to speak to them to keep them from harming you or others. You and your target both glow an array of soft, pacifying colours.
Kindness: As a paragon of love, even the foulest of creatures' hearts are soothed by your presence. Most beings will refuse to harm you outright, though Archdemons, High Abominations, and other extremely powerful beings may still harm you, but even then, only High Abominations may strike a killing blow against you, due to their emotionless and alien minds. Only Archdemons can torture you, and cannot do so for an extended period of time. If an Archdemon attempts to override this ability, he instantly is rendered unconcious. When in situations when this power activiates, you are surrounded by an aura of white light.
Humility: You give credit where credit is due, and tend to be very modest. Whenever someone attempts to steal someone else's glory, ideas, etc., you may infuse them with your own humility, albeit a bit forcefully. Targets of this power abandon any tasks and are thrown into a depression. Plans of theft and arrogance are instantly shattered. When you use this ability, your eyes flash green.
------------
Vices:
Lust: Your need to get fulfill your desires at any cost, be it sex, drugs, money, etc. gives you the ability to obtain what you want most at any time. If for some reason you are prevented from obtaining what it is that you need from someone, you can dominate their will and -force- them to give it to you. This object or service MUST be involved with obtaining your Vice, and cannot be used friviously (For example, you just feel like dominating someone or you want their weapon. Though I understand weapon addiction exists, this makes this ability quite overpowered.) This kind of mental domination can only be dispelled by Chasity's ability. This is a curse. Dominated people act normally until commanded, their eyes becoming blank.
Gluttony: Sure, you can live by necessity, but why do so when you can have as much as you want, whenever you want? By over-indulging yourself in food, sex, drugs, etc. to the point of near-death excess, you may steal the life essence from others in order to keep yourself going, so you can indulge some more. This ability creates a bolt of black and crimson light, and rends open sizeable wounds on the target, and heals some of your own in turn.
Greed: You have amassed such a great wealth, why waste it by squandering it on possessions? ...and others? Because you adamantly refuse to share your vast wealth with others, and will greedily hoard the wealth of others, you may render yourself as an impenetrable fortress. Whenever your property is in danger (such as a valuable item, your weapon, etc.) you temporarily get a hefty boost in speed and strength until you retrieve the possession, the possession is destroyed, or, until four posts of battle (your posts). This strength allows you to flip cars and the like, and the speed turns you into a blur. If someone uses the Charity ability to attempt to stop you from harming an innocent, this ability is instantly canceled, and you suffer the same consequences that the shielder suffers. When this ability is in use, a fell aura of black energy crackles around you.
Sloth: Pfeh, why even try? Why even bother to move, even? When you use Sloth's ability, you can render everyone around you to become depressed and hopeless. Goals are abandoned, and the hopeful rendered hopeless. This ability negates Dilligence's ability, and visa versa.
Wrath: If someone offends you, they pay. If someone hurts you, they die. Your unforgiving and angry nature makes you an opponent to be feared. Users of the Wrath ability may manifest it in two ways. One way is to become a raging berserker, gaining incredible strength and stamina, you may run into a sword and survive, and five-inch thick steel walls crumple like paper. However, this only lasts for THREE battle posts. If you are fatally wounded at any time (such as the sword) you gain all of the consequences of your wounds after your third post, regardless of whether or not your opponent is a puddle of blood. The second form is to unleash a wave of destruction upon your foes, felling forests, slaughtering innocents, all to fulfill your vengeance. Instantly after this attack, you are rendered weary. You are surrounded by a violent black and crimson aura that lashes and sparks while berserking. The attack creates a dome of the same energy that tears through your opponents, killing or horribly wounding them.
Envy: Why can't you be like that...it should be yours...because of your constant need for what others have, this power allows you to mimic the strength and skills of an enemy, including any powers they have active. You and your opponent both glow with a draining yellow energy.
Pride: You are the greatest. Or so you think. Because of your arrogance, you may render those who attempt to look greater than you, or those who you simply believe should kneel to you overwhelmed by your very presence. Everyone around you cowers before you, regardless of their position. This ability is temporarily surpressed by Humility, and you suffer none of Humility's other effects. However, someone with the Humility Virtue will not be affected by your aura. This aura is a barely visible, poisonous green fog that bubbles at your feet.
