(>.> I should really focus on working on one of the stories I already have instead of making new ones.....oh well. It's QT's bg, just kinda a prolog here and any stealing will be punished by Tyson and her thinking up evilness (has had pratice with characters) and help with any stupid misktakes like always)
A small baby boy laid upon a padded table-like bed, with a light cover over him who was in a seduced sleep. At the moment, the baby didn’t look that healthy. His skin was pale, having the same kind of look that someone who’s been sick for months has. The breathing of the baby was faster then it should be and coming a bit uneven, here and there the baby having to gasp for an extra breath. Dark black hair covered the baby’s head and nearly covered his pointed ears that stuck out.
The room in which the baby boy laid in looked greatly like a room that doctors exam their patients in. A counter with a sink to one side of the room had cabinets filled with simple antibiotics and common products used for medicine that could easily be found in someone’s house. Two chairs were by the door of the room, both of them full, only being about to occupy two of the six people in the room.
Brown hair covered part of her face as she leaned forward in the chair, looking down at the ground. Guilt, worry and relief covered her face as she glared down at the floor, regretting what she had let him do to her baby. She should have never allowed it but he had managed to talk her into it, saying that there couldn’t possibly be a chance of death. However he had been wrong, she had almost lost one of the things that matter most to her in life. She brought her eyes up and looked at the four other people, paying no attention to the one next to her. She rested her eyes on two of them; the red-haired doctor that was pushing his glasses up as he looked down at her son, making certain that he was going to recover and the other being a black-haired man, with almost the some kind of blue eyes that her son had been born with.
“Johnathon should recover from the experiment. What caused his sudden sickness was no more then something little that was unexpected but easy to deal with.” The doctor said, pushing his glasses up again.
“You are sure about that, Tim? He is not going to get sick or anything again?” A greened eye man with black hair asked, looking down at the baby.
“Of course I am sure. Why would I say that if I was not sure? Your son will be fine, and will be back to being healthy in a few days. Trust me David.” Tim told him, taking off his glasses and wiping them on his white coat before putting them back on.
“He would have been okay completely, if you and Kasper had not decided to use him as a guinea pig!” She said, snapping at them, her eyes still resting with a glare at the two of them.
“Who would you have suggested to use? Ask the people to offer up one of their children for it? It is part of your duty to protect the people and sacrifice what you care for, for them, to make sure that things are safe for them, even if it is just something like this. ” Kasper retorted at her.
“You said there was not going to be any danger! You said the only unsure thing was how it was going to effect his growth! He guaranteed us that! And now he is telling us to trust him when he has already messed up!” She snapped back, rising to her feet and pointing angrily to the doctor. The person next to her looked up at her a bit uneasily though not saying anything. He looked around at the others, Kasper being angry, Tim seeming to care less about her opinion, David looked over at his wife, the feeling of anger had not consumed him yet, his attention was too much on his sick son.
“My lady, Zara, you should keep it down. If you are so worried about your son then why are you shouting?” The asked man asking her, who was standing by the door behind her. He stood out from the others, mainly because of his clothes. All of the other’s clothes were bright colors, with little to no dark colors. While the only thing that could not be described as being dark was a white shirt that just barely showed up from underneath his kimono. The pants of the komodo were black while the top was dark blue.
Zara whirled around and looked at him, glaring at him, doing her best not to show her hatred for him.
“Zara, think things through,” Kasper started to tell her. “Your son is going to be fine. It was just a little mishap, a learning experience that is all it is.”
“You should be honored about this. If my two sons were not already grown, then I would have certainly suggested them for it too. With the information that we will be able to learn from him will help so many in the long run. It will help us interact with the other species.” Zack told her before she even had a chance to say anything.
The person in the chair shifted uneasily at the thought of having what was done to Johnathon done to him. He had seen the process, and it looked far from painless.
“What is so honorable about almost having a dead son?! It may have been honorable for you to have that! Hell, you probably would have liked Yiska to die when he was a baby so that you would not have had to deal with him when he grew up and then losing him!” Zara told him nearly yelling at him.
Zack’s eyes narrowed with anger for a moment before he regained control of himself once again, his calm face returning. “I am not as heartless or heartless as you wish and fooled yourself into believing, my lady. It would have brought Yiska at least some honor to him.”
“Honor is not wo-.”
“Just stop….” David muttered, looking down at his son. He had moved his finger up against his son’s hand and in his sleep; Johnathon had lightly gripped on to his father’s finger. “Zara, no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to show them their idiocy nor their stupidity. Master Zack has always been under the impression that honor is worth more then life, even that of a young one. No matter what you say, he will never change his mind, he is too stubborn.” David said, his tone soft and quiet, he spoke in such a way that it seemed like he did not realize that Zack was in the room.
“David! As be-.” Kasper started to say but was only cut off again.
“Father, you must forgive me, but at the moment, I care for nothing you say.” David spoke softly and quietly as he turned his head to look his father in the eyes. “What you and Tim have done, what you have convinced Zara and me to let you do is inhumane. It is sickening and wrong! I do not care for what reason it is for nor for what you say. Now, if you have anything of use to say, say it now or leave.” David told him, his tone turning icy cold. Never had David felt this much anger and especially not at his father.
Kasper looked at his grown son, his mind debating what he should respond with. Most of the time his son was rather carefree and kind, though he had seen those rare occasions that turned his son’s heart to ice and made him into a different person. Kasper could easily tell that David was restraining himself, that David could have said worse, and would probably like nothing less then to make them feel the pain that they had “forced” Johnathon to feel. “Do not forget who you are and what you are supposed to be.” Kasper told him before walking out of the room, making a hand signal for Zack to follow.
“Call me if the boy’s condition worsens at all.” Tim told them, pushing his glasses up once again and then following after Kasper and Zack.
David turned his attention back down to his son. He knows that Johnathon should get better; he had been getting better over the last few days. Compared to a couple of days ago, Johnathon’s heath was perfect.
Zara walked over to were David stood and looked down at her son with the some kind of look before, worry, guilty and a bit relieved. She reached out and started to run her hand through the baby’s hair for a moment before stopping.
“He is going to be okay. Do not worry about.” The only person that didn’t leave besides David and Zara said, standing up from the chair and walking over to them.
“I know Craven.” David muttered softly, not looking at him. David didn’t care that Craven stayed, Craven wasn’t like his father nor Kasper nor Tim. Craven cared about others and was many times easier to get along with.
“Did you hear when Tim said he is going to get better?” Zara asked, she didn’t bother to pay attention to half the things that Tim said.
“It will be a couple of months until he will be able to be healthy enough to leave.” Craven answered knowing what she was thinking about. “I could go for you if you two want.”
“No. We said that we will be going.” Zara said, then tearing her eyes away from her son. “Could you watch over him? Until we come back? I do not want him to be raised by his grandfather or your father. You are one of the few that I would trust with this.”
Craven smiled some and bowed his head a bit. “Of course I will watch over him and raise him until you two come back. I will treat him as if he is my own brother.”
“Make sure that they do not try to do that to him again.” David said, looking up for only a moment at Craven, unlike how his tone was with Zack and Kasper, his tone to Craven was nearly the complete opposite. His tone was obviously friendly and kind to Craven, having known him for a while and trusting him with his life.
“Of course.” Craven replied.
